It’s Friday night.
…and I have no idea what to do after spending the past five nights with Trevor. The Teenager and I are both home from our separate vacations. Since returning from El Dorado (we took care of errands when I finished working), he’s spent a chunk of time in his room.
Because that’s what most 15 year olds do.
I took a hot bath. Fed two of my four girls. Cleaned their condos. Answered a few text messages.
I’ve spent years being single. Enjoying my independence and not feeling obliged to shave anything. Coming and going as I pleased. Where I pleased.
And all of that has changed. I ENJOY HAVING ANOTHER HUMAN AROUND TO INTERACT WITH FOR MORE THAN A FEW HOURS AT A TIME.
It’s the strangest thing. A new thing. This seamlessness I have with Trevor.
Though our relationship is still very new, we act as a unit. Nothing I’ve ever experienced before. So it’s odd, after all those days together, to not be out in the world with him.
Or sitting on his couch eating supper (that he made) together. Falling asleep next to him. Waking up to tired blue eyes in the morning.
But this week gave us a lot to look forward to. A tiny glimpse into what life will be like down the road.
We’re both looking forward to it, whenever it may happen.
And speaking of life down the road, the farm house now has a working dishwasher to go with the refrigerator! ANDDDDD my step-father will focus on tiling the stove’s new home whenever he gets back down there.
WHICH MEANS I WILL HAVE ANOTHER EMPTY KITCHEN COUNTER BECAUSE THE TILES WILL BE ON THE WALL WHERE THEY BELONG INSTEAD OF SAID COUNTER!
Seems like once all of the kitchen has been completed, everything else is going to fall into place fairly quickly.
…although carpet is a toss up.
Because COVID backlog.
Also, the price of said carpet.
Sooooooooooo, depending on what Step-father finds out, we could spend our first few weeks/months on the farm without carpet.
Clearly, I’d much rather go ahead and move in WITH fresh, new carpet spread shamelessly all over the floors; however, if it’s going to be months before it can be put in, Future Amber will be using her Tetris skills when the time comes for the carpet to be laid down.
Because I am ready to thrive and unfurl in the comfort of my own home. Surrounded by people I love and who love me.
Not to mention I really want to have a little birthday party for my birthday at the farm this year.
Cake. Ice cream. The Teenager,Trevor, my family, and a few close friends.
No presents required or wanted. JUST SOME REALLY FUN DECORATIONS AND LOVING ENERGY!
I already have everything I could ever want.
More posts to come.
