You read correctly- this is a safe space. We love our trans friends here. The more the merrier!
I hate to disappoint, but I accidentally deleted pictures of the most wonderful peen stitch markers that I promised last post. Sigh.
Know they were very much appreciated. And I hope to see pictures of them in their new home soon. HINT HINT!
A holiday is coming. One I don’t ever care to celebrate BUT this year I am excited BECAUSE we are having Easter at my mom’s since the majority of us will have had at least one shot. It will be the first time almost all of us have been together since roughly Christmas Eve 2019.
We will be staying outside, though, just in case.
I am not so secretly hoping I get lots of hugs this Sunday. Or that I can at least have some longer hugs.
Let’s share some more exciting news!
Every year, I get myself a birthday present. Sometimes a few too many. But this year, I’ll be able to celebrate in my own home- giving me plenty of options. ALL KINDS OF OPTIONS!
Terrible and glorious options.
I love the creatures. This is not surprising, or new information.
And we all know how much I love Erlene. She’s been the first “pet” that I have truly loved with all my heart. Who would have thought a spider could bring me so much joy?! But how can you resist that sweet little spood face?
It gets me every time. Even when I am removing random insect carcasses out of her condo.
While I am definitely on the lookout for another spood (at this point, I currently can’t imagine not having at least one, or three), I want our family to grow a little more.
Because a teenage boy, a bold jumper, and 35-ish houseplants aren’t quite enough.
I know what you’re thinking. I DO want a dog, for sure. But I want to be settled in for a while before I bring a sweet pupper home.
This year, for my birthday; however, I want to bring of these little guys into our family:
THAT’S RIGHT, FRIENDS! I WILL BE A LEOPARD GECKO MOM BECAUSE THEY ARE SO FREAKING CUTE!
Life has taken quite a turn, hasn’t it? Prior to last year, I was never interested in reptiles. DEFINITELY not jumping spiders, either.
I don’t know who this version of human I have evolved into is, but I’m enjoying her.
Quite a bit, actually. And it makes me curious as to what other versions of Amber will come into being.
But that’s for future me to discover. Right Now Amber needs to simply enjoy the present.
Which I am. Because I washed ALL of my bedding last night and am snuggled up underneath my blankets. I swear they feel extra soft now.
Plus my chef friend on the East Coast and I are discussing how to make a tasty salad because apparently there is this thing called “balance”. Eating lots of
potatoes starch is supposedly not great for you.
At first, I thought his idea of a tater tot/fry/starchy salad was terrible. For half a second, I questioned what kind of chef he really is. DOES HE HAVE A FANCY DEGREE FROM A FANCY COOKING SCHOOL?!
But then I was thinking lettuce, SUPER CRISPY tots, tomatoes, and lots of Freddy’s Fry Sauce may not be that bad.
However, I am curious what Chef Paul will come up with. Especially because he’s the reason I always end up reminding myself of all the starch I’ve eaten.
…I would love a real adult to be in charge of feeding me. I’ll do dishes and laundry in exchange. I also give great hugs and will provide ample cheap entertainment.
Not to mention I clearly have great taste in creature companions.
In all seriousness, I can’t wait to adopt a leopard gecko. I’ll be spending the next few months learning everything I can because it’s a huge responsibility to care for another living being.
This is similar to what happened before I found Erlene. Except I won’t find a leopard gecko hanging out on the window sill like she was.
Those of you who have a leopard gecko, or have had one, please feel free to leave me any little tidbit of information in the comments! I want my gecko to have the best life possible.
And I will be living my best life by retreating to the tub for a super hot bath, but I already have my next post planned for you guys.
…I will be regaling you with the “The Great Lawn Mowing Saga of 2021”, which happened this past Sunday.
It was very much a learning experience. Not one I care to have in the morning. Any morning, for that matter.
More posts to come (I promise, Sister!).
